I.
NIGHTVISION AND EXTRAVISION
Some maps in Purge have
extreme dark areas. To see in the dark,
characters have either Nightvision or Extravision.
There is no limit to using Nightvision or
Extravision; it stays on for as long you
like. By default, this actived by the V
key.
Characters
of the Order have Nightvision. This amplifies
the ambient photons in the area allowing
the player to see everything in green in
the dark. While it has some visual noise
(grainy static), Nightvision can used in
most daylight or bright areas too to help
spot hiding players. In most cases, Players
can choose leave Nightvision on the entire
time, however it will get washed out in
really bright areas. Also, Nightvision is
weak in absolute pitch darkness when there
is no form of light at all to amplify.
Since
the Chosen don't have the optical cybernetics
or googles for Nightvision, their magic
researchers invented an ability called Extravision.
While Extravision allows the Chosen to see
in the dark, it is not functionally identical
to Nightvision. Instead of enhancing what
exist, like all of magic, Extravision changes
the very rules of light and dark. For this
reason Extravision is often called "Inverse
Vision". It flips light to dark and
dark to light, resulting in a blue monocrome
image with low visual noise. This makes
it excellent in dark areas. The darker some
area is, the brighter it is with Extravision.
However, Extravision is almost useless in
bright areas as everything will "wash-out"
and turn dark.

II.
ZOOMING
The special vision of the
Order and the Chosen has one additional
ability. All characters have telescopic
vision in their eyes. By simply pressing
your zoom key (default Z
key), players can zoom while wielding any
weapon. This helpful not just for sniping,
but for scouting for dangers on outdoor
maps. Commandos wielding their scoped rifle
have an additional zooming ability.
