THE PRAYER SYSTEM & ALTARS

I. BACKGROUND

Please read the following for background information...
I. Introduction
II. Mabus, the Chosen's Deity
III. Evod, the Order's Deity

Purge Jihad adds a whole new gameplay system with the power of "prayer" known as the The Prayer System. The Prayer System is based of the Artifact of Divinity and Deity from the "Jihad" game mode from FvF. In FvF Jihad, the player with the Artifact of Divinity is the Deity who invokes Mass Blesses by listening to teammates requests. This has been complete redesigned for Purge. In Purge Jihad players will pray to either to Evod or Mabus for Divine Intervention.

II. PRAYING

Players spend Piety Points praying at the Altar by pushing 'Q'. Players are displayed multiple menus of different possible phrases to pray to the Deity. Depending on the wording of your prayer, the Deity will offer different Blesses and Interventions. There are over 200 possible prayers for 24 possible favors.

III. ALTARS
Altars are positioned near your character's base and spawn point. On some maps, the Altar is within a few feet of your Portal and comparativly easy to reach. On other maps the Altar is far enough away that you will have to divide your time between defending your Portal and securing your Altar. You can always see where the your team's Altar and enemy Altar is because thier respective text label are visible through walls. To get to your Altar simply head towards the visible text and vice versa.

Altars are secondary objectives. The team needs to keep the Altar secure to pray for blesses. Prayers can completely change the tide of the game. Selecting the proper bless can transform a losing team into a winning team. It is important to keeping enemies away from their Deity's Altar to stop them from praying, and secure your own Deity's Altar to that you can use prayers whenever your have the PP or it is strategically important. Keep in mind the following prayer rules:
Players need to be within 25 ft (7.62 m) from the Altar to pray.
Players must be facing the Altar to pray.

Note: Altars can be optionally disabled by the server.
